Usage 🪄
In this section, we'll explore how to use our web application effectively. Whether you're a new user or an experienced one, this section will guide you through various aspects of the application's usage.
User Interface
Find a tutor (Student)
Here’s a brief overview of what you’ll find on the “find a tutor” page:
- Relevant Tutors: By default**,** you will be displayed tutors above your age. Additionally, you can choose to filter tutors based on your required timezone, availability and subjects.
- Connect with a tutor: Upon discovering a tutor that fits your needs, click “Connect” to send a connect request to the tutor. Visit the student dashboard for further info.
Dashboard Overview (Student version)
Here's a brief overview of what you'll find on the student user dashboard:
- Volunteer/Tutor info: Once connected to a tutor, you’ll be able to access and view information about your tutor (description of your tutor, age of the tutor, subjects, timezone and availability)
- Connect with your tutor: Click on the connect button to send a request to your tutor and communicate with each other via email.
Dashboard Overview (Volunteer version)
Here's a brief overview of what you'll find on the volunteer user dashboard:
- Link request: In the case that a student sends you a connect request, you’ll be able to view these requests and accept or reject these requests based on your convenience and workload.
- manage students: Volunteers will be able to view information about their students (name of the student, age, subjects, timezone and availability) and connect with the student from the dashboard. Volunteers will also be able to view info about past students helped.
Creating and Managing Resources
One of the primary uses of our web application is resource creation and management. Here's how you can get started:
- Creating a Resource (volunteers):
- As a volunteer, you will be able to add a to create a resource by clicking on the “create a resource” button
- Editing Content:
- As a volunteer, you’ll be able to add a title, select the publishing date, filter the type of resource (blog or reference material), specify a category, add tags, upload a cover image and most importantly, add content.
